Sue Damgaard, MPH, RNC-OB
Sue has been focused on supporting women and mothers for her entire career. A board-certified nurse for 17 years in hospital and community settings, Sue has cared for thousands of women during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. In 2019, Sue deepened her practice by completing doula training with her beloved doula mentors at BiA Doula School in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This experience opened a window for Sue into the relational, spiritual aspects of supporting women and families through birth. Within this new path, Sue went on to complete Spinning Babies Aware Practitioner training in September, 2021 in San Diego with Nicole Morales and Jamie Mossey. In 2021, Sue completed a Yoga Alliance-Certified 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Peter Kaaperbol in Montezuma, Costa Rica. This experience expanded Sue’s ability to support the mind-body connection with women in labor. She continues to participate in conferences and education, including the 2023 DONA International doula conference in Minneapolis and the 2024 annual California AWHONN conference for obstetric nurses.
Sue is deeply, wholly committed to facilitating better birth and the expansion of love and safety for women and families as they welcome a new baby. It is her life’s calling. When she is not working in birth, Sue is in the mountains. She is a triple crowner of the National Scenic Trails (AT 09, PCT 12/23, CDT 15) and has hiked about 16,000 miles on long distance trails, traverses and routes in North America and Europe.
Ariel Zablocki PT, DPT
Ariel is a pelvic floor physical therapist specialized in obstetrics. With her roots in dance, she has always had a unique prospective and understanding of the moving body. She began her physical therapy career in Jackson, WY where she primarily worked with high level athletes throughout their pregnancy journey and into their return to sport. She then relocated to Oregon to train with a nationally recognized team in visceral and manual therapies for pelvic health before settling in Bishop. Through her extensive training, she has helped countless women maintain an active pregnancy, prepare for childbirth, and recover postpartum.
She strives to see diverse maternal support through the entire perinatal period be a normal part of care. To support this, she has worked to develop a pelvic health physical therapy program within the Owens Valley and provides community outreach at local events and through self developed courses in locations throughout the region. She extends her knowledge into content writing for pleasure shop, Honeydew, where she covers topics from anatomy to pleasure.
In her time away from the pelvis, you’ll find her hiking, identifying plants, spinning wool, or knitting.
